Why the Whining?

We took Roxie to have her bred but the breeder said the time was not right we were too late on the 9 to 12 th days after her being there those days. So we went and got her. She was really stress out and losing a lot of fur also. The males were not interested and she was not interested in hump.gif They even tried 2 different males to see their reactions. Well now that she was around the males and is back home she goes around whining all the time and doing thehump.gif to the stuffed animals and putting her butt in my faceweirdface. Her vulva was larger than ever when she came home. Do female dogs whine like the cats yowl ??? Never had the other one do that.

Becky, to me it sounds like she was there too EARLY. "10 days" is the norm but i'ts not written in stone. I've known dogs that ovulate as late as 20 days. And Janie just gets interested around day 12. When we bred Janie to an outside boy, he came here and lived with us for two weeks so they could decide when the right time really was.

We are really thinking that too. She has been driving us crazy with the whining. And then when I laid in the floor to play with her and she put her butt in my face and started doing the kicking thing like they do after they pee or poop I almost croaked last night. Well it is all for the best to wait until next time. But poor "bunny" has to be put away when company comes in.

Yes. It's funny, before I had a girl in heat, I wondered how I would know if she was ready. HOO boy, how can you NOT know, right? LOL biggrin

I will know next time. Believe me. And I think Mr. Scooter will be coming for a visit to our house in 6 months instead of her going there.
