Well, we're finally winding down on Bella's first heat - although she still won't leave poor Bruno alone (and he wants nothing to do with her, fickle guy that he is), but now Bindi has started her first heat. She seems to be having such a rough time - just very mopey and tired. I've increased her iron (in form of spinach and other foods) and her b vitamins (with supplements) but i feel so bad. I swear she's having one of those gosh awful, leave me alone, i'm cramping so bad months :) Anyone know of any other remedies - she just wants to do nothing all day - lay on a pillow or follow me around - i feel so bad for her
Sue, My Cocoa is mopey and depressed when she is in season as well... I have found that she likes to lay on a heating pad on low heat with a soft towel over the pad.. She stretches out so her little tummy can soak up the heat.. Doesn't matter if it is summer or winter, she wants that heat on her belly... Deb

Thanks Deb - i'll try that. Poor little girl looks so miserable - i even let her cuddle with me on couch while i was having dinner - probably bad habit to start, but she just looked soooo sad
Oh poor little Bindi! You can just imagine how she feels, cant you?! Awww! Give her a gentle snuggle from her Auntie Jess, k?
I'm afraid I cant offer much advice as Ellie's seasons tend to only be problematic for me! lol I dont think she actually notices! lol The heat idea sounds like a very good one though, a hot water bottle held on the tum usually helps me too!
Woo Hoo - i'm finally done with both heats !!!! Yippeee..... 6 months of peace til it goes again LOL
I just saw the cutest thing for the hot water bottles tho - it's a little pillow pad shaped like a dog or cat and the tummy part is round and has velcro - so you can put the hot water bottle into the stuffed toy and they can cuddle on that. I thought it was so cute i may get one for next time :)
