Hey! I'm Liz. My love for Chihuahuas began not long ago when I rescued Squirt. He became a part of my family in October of 2005. Roughly around mid-October this year Squirt developed swollen, hard lymph nodes. We took him to our vet only to find out that Squirt had lymphoma. We decided to go the palliative route and start him on prednisone. We should have had another 30-60 days with Squirt in remission. Unfortunately, Squirt's cancer was too advanced and his condition continued to decline. Squirt's last day with us was October 29th, 2007. He was such a good dog and I miss him terribly. My house just isn't the same without a dog around so I've contacted a breeder and hope to have a new pup around Christmas. I need lots of advice on raising a new small pup since I got Squirt when he was already 7-8 pounds (he was a big chi 14 pounds healthy-not fat). I love the breed and everything Chi!
Welcome to the crossing. I'm sure you will find alot of people here to answer any questions you may have. I'm so sorry to here of the loss of Squirt. I lost my Doberman, Princess in February this year. I still missher so much. I got her when she was 8 weeks old and she passed at 8 1/2 years. I love the pictures of Squirt. He was quite handsome. I hope you find another one to fill the void. Will be looking for pictures to be posted of him or her when you do. There are a couple of breeders on here that have pups for sale now. you might want to check on them too. Best of luck.
Liz, we are so happy to have you join our group... and I am so sorry for the loss of Squirt. Many here have been thru the heartache of losing members of our families as well. You'll find lots of support and encouragment with us and possibly more advice than you ever wanted..lol
