Our vets office kennels a few pets. We have a wonderful Kennel here that has came highly recommended to me also. We have to go to OK for my daughters c-section next week and will be gone 3 days. So we need a kennel for 3 nights M,T,W and 3 days, T,W,and Thurs til mid day. I know we cannot take the girls with us for this trip. If our neighbor cannot keep them inside at his house they will have to be kenneled, or pay the neighbor to come here several times a day and let them out and play with them which is what my hubby wants.I just do not want them here in the house alone so much. But they might be happier with that situation. Would you do a vets office or the regular kennel if you had to leave yours??? We will see. I'm just a worry wart over these girls.
if they were mine I would also say the vet kennel myself. If something was to happen while in their care, I feel they would take care of it quicker and usually especially around the holiday seasons more people use the boarding kennels more and i'm sure they have their hands fuller than the vet kennels do. usually vets are smaller so they dont take as many animals as a kennel does. that is my opinion.
I believe that I'd go with what the other said, the Vet kennel. Sounds like that would just be the best option. I hope things go well with your decision and with the c-section as well.
Hey Becky - i would say go with vet over kennel also. Mainly cause i just love my vet and if he ever kenneled too i'd love it. The girls might get more attention there too - if your vet is anything like mine, the vet techs will have the girls out giving 'em some loving during the day
I am going to call the vets office tomorrow and see if he has room for them . They can go in the same area together (which is what I prefer) since Roxie is my little scardey cat and would be more at ease with Abby right there with her. SInce it is not over the weekend I feel that it will be a good place.

Becky, I have been very lucky. I have not had to board any of mine because I have grown children that will come over to the house and take care of them when I'm gone. If I did have to leave them I would go with the Vet as I know her and would be more comfortable leaving them with her. We are hoping to go to Ohio next month and we will take them with us. Buds Mom and two of his sisters have Chis too so ours are always welcome there. CONGRATLATIONS on your 500 posts!!!!!!!
Boo Hoo, the vets office did not have room for Roxie and Abby next week. But I had to take Abby by today for her Kennel Cough vaccine and they assured me that I had picked the best kennel in town to use. Since they know where I am leaving them they(the vets office) will treat them or do anything that has to be done while we are gone. We had that understanding today. I went and visited the kennel today also and it was extremely clean. I made an unexpected pop in visit. I think I will be more misreable than the pups.
