Ok, so those of you who remember, i was asking about retained baby teeth. I ended up having CJ's pulled a couple of weeks ago - he had retained 3 of his canines and i didn't want it to throw his bite off. At the time, we knew Bijou had a couple of retained baby teeth also, but as she lost one within days after being at vet, i was going to wait. Over weekend tho, as I was checking her bite - i could see 2 of her back teeth starting to jut out to the side (towards her gums) AND there was a tooth right in front up on top of the gums OUCH. The poor baby :( So, I just dropped her this morning to have any retained teeth pulled - they just called me and said she did fine but there was actually 5 of her baby teeth still in there. The good part is the teeth that were pushing out towards gums and top of her mouth were actually her baby teeth - the permanents were pushing them out of the way so hopefully it hasn't hurt her bite any. CJ bounced right back after having his down - i'm hoping Bijou does same. She was none too happy with me this morning at 7 am when i left her with the vet tech :(
Bijou, hope you are feeling perky by this afternoon. Sorry you have a little sore mouthy. Maybe Mommy will give you some soft good special food, yummy for your tummy. Sue, I hope you don't have any more to retain pup teeth.Good luck. Becky
Oh I am late seeing this. Poor girl. How is she doing now?
She actually bounced back pretty quickly - tho not as quick as cj :( They ended up giving her pain meds as she had 5 in awkward positions to get out so she was pretty out of it for most of night but was right back to her wild self the next morning lol
all but one of the teeth "going sideways" was a baby tooth so most are in correct position. there is one in back that we're hoping will now slide into place now that the baby tooth is gone
the vet is so funny - they keep the teeth and clean them up and give them to you in a tiny vile LOL
best part was that while she was under the tech clipped her whiskers (which takes me forever as she won't sit still) so she's all prettied up for her next show :)
LOL Dana - just think tho - her and cj have perfect little mouths now so when we come to visit sugar can have a "nice-looking" date - and bijou - well, she'll just give me good puppies so i can finally make you jealous LOL
I bet you have alot of people inline though, don't you?
well - not really a line but yeah - there's a lot of interest in his pups :) I'll probably end up starting a waiting list as soon as i breed her so i know who's really interested. Of course - i'm hoping to get a nice show quality for myself from him too :)
BUT - bindi should be coming into heat again (if she holds true to her every 4 months) in january - she was a year in november and this will be her 3rd heat so i'm probably going to breed her then to him also. She still hasn't taken that well to the ring :( and that's reason i wouldn't breed her if she was doing well. Bijou hasn't even come into her 1st heat and besides, she's doing so well in the ring i won't breed her for a while :) But hopefully that'll be 2 litters from cj by spring :)
Oh that would be great. Baron carries chocolate also. I hope he does well in the ring. I bet there pups would cross well together. I need a LC female, I want to be picky with them though, you know, I want them to produce nice. Some dogs just don't like to show maybe Bindi is one? I should take champ with me when I take Baron to the handler and see what the handler thinks of him also. He is little more of an aggresive type though. No not real sure, or if he would even do well? You are so awesome to do all that on your own. I am so chicken poop and wanna have someone do it for me lol.
