Losing Weight!

I just don't understand this!

Corona lost a lot of weight about 3-4 weeks ago, but I attributed it to her being in heat. She was down to less than 3lbs (normally is 3.5lbs+) when she went and stayed with a friend of mine for two weeks. When she came back, she looked a LOT better and was back up to a good weight.

Well now I've had her back home with me for about a week, and she is losing weight again! I have been giving her free access to food (whereas I used to feed her 2x per day) and of course water... and she gets the occasional treat - a greenie or dentastix - when I have my long days of class and she is alone all day.

I don't get it... why was she fine with my friend, but is not fine with me!?

She was feeding her 2x per day, exactly what I was feeding. I sent her with food.

Stacey, I am so sorry you are having a problem. Last thing you need huh? Maybe she is feeling your stress or just is not eating unless you are home. Maybe she will get back to normal over the Holidays. I know you are worried. You are a good Mommy so just keep trying. This hormone stuff does weird things to them on their first heat..or on some of them. It has my youngest one. She lost the first two weeks, then ate a lot and gained, and now has lost several ounces again. But she is not tiny like Corona. They do worry us so don't they. I wish you the best and hope she picks back up on her weight. Enjoy going home for Christmas also...
